Commr's conduct oversight of dozens of vital Cook County agencies, activities, and bureaus including juvenile justice facilities, county jail, health facilities, forest preserves, and more.

Commr's set and must approve an annual county budget, called an"Annual Appropriation Budget" (see county 2022 report here).

Commr's help meet their residents' needs and advocate for greaterresources - with each district having about 300,000 people.
